Girl Who Urged Boyfriend’s Suicide With Texts Appeals Her Conviction
The woman who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for urging her boyfriend to kill himself through text messages and phone conversations is appealing her conviction, arguing that it violated the First Amendment because it was based on “words alone.” I agree with her attorney that this may be a “novel question of constitutional and criminal law.” I’m just not sure that it deserves to be a question at all.
